STORIES AND SONGS ABOUT US, FROM OUT OF THIS WORLD...
Cab is an unhappy camper.
He is unhappy because his life is shit.
He works, he is lonely, he is angry.
The year is 2136 and Cab lives…on the Moon
Orphaned at a young age he could not afford to stay on an overpriced Earth, thus he was shipped out to the wild frontier of space but ended up stuck in a dead-end crater town on the Moon.
He grinds away in a soul numbing job as a librarian. He gets high, he plays guitar, he writes songs. He knows the old language of music. He hangs with his friends: some real, some imagined, some human, some mechanical. He longs for the myth of Old Earth, from before The War, an Earth that was warm and wild and free....and he feels something is wrong with his existence: it’s a low burning fever of depression, an ever present cloud of oppression, it’s a life in bitter skin.
Cab uncovers buried clues in his work’s data that begin to add up: how THE STATE “edits” history to control us, what’s been taken from us as individuals and as a society, and how we have lost touch with the natural order of life, lost touch with our souls. Cab is pulled in and compelled to expose the control of THE STATE and their proscribed mind numbing facade for a happy life. Can Cab find a way to reclaim humanity for himself and possibly for all humankind? Is he the second coming of Martin Luther? Or does he risk the consequences of going back in time to tell us to change our behavior before it’s too late?
SONGS FROM THE MOON Is a collection of vignettes and songs that link together a painful, colorful and crazy ride for civilization as seen through the eyes of Cab and his friends...full of reminders of how our humanity, along with the constellation of our history as a species, can easily slip away.
